Our Mission

We are in the middle of always. in all ways.

Women have always carried the stories for all of humanity. But that history is often written for us, not by us. We exist in the space between the generations that gave us life, rights, and inspiration and the generations that will carry our lessons and our names into the future. When a culture shifts, as it is now, the lived experience of women is often the first thing to be threatened. Documenting, collecting, and celebrating our experiences—en masse—cements our history. We claim it in full, for it is fully ours.

A single story is a memory. An army of stories is an immutable history. Together, our voices are not just loud, they are undeniable.

Too often, the stories that define us—the hard-won wisdom, the strength-building challenges, the backbone testing trials, and the shining and glorious celebrations are left “in the air,” lost to silence and the rush of a busy life and to time itself. They are told over kitchen tables, in nurseries, and carried in our bodies—but only a few of us put them into writing. We are the daughters of women who were often too busy surviving to write down their magical gifts of inspiration.

What if we started telling their stories? What if we wrote them down? What if we started doing the same with our own? Think of the inspiration, the lessons, and the collective wisdom we would share.

The Army of Stories is a sacred rebellion against that silence. We are a collective, inclusive archive dedicated to preserving women’s history in our time. Whether via whisper or roar, every story submitted here becomes a permanent light in our digital gallery.

We believe that when we document our lives, we aren’t just reminiscing or ruminating; we are clearing a path. We are providing a roadmap, or a trail map, for those coming next, ensuring they never have to wonder who we were, what we loved, the change we stood for, or how we survived all of it.

Your story belongs here. In all ways.

The Philosophy

We believe we are in The Middle of Always—in all ways. We are the link between those who came before, and those who will come after. Our story has always been, and it always will be. We stand in our own story, in the middle of that Always. And we do it in All of our Ways. We embrace the full spectrum of the feminine experience—every identity, every culture, every struggle, and every victory.

The Work

The Army of Stories is a community-powered archive. We solicit, curate, and preserve the shimmering “Movement Moments” of life—those fragments of memory that define who we are and what we are here to accomplish. By collecting these voices, we ensure that when the next generation looks back, they don’t see a void, our history re-written in male voices, or in vague generalities.

They see an army of women who refused to be told who they are by society and the world at large. They see an army of women who have captured the wisdom of their elders, documented their own moments of survival and triumph, and who refused to be forgotten.

We are our legacy. Our stories are our gift to our daughters, our nieces, our granddaughters, and all the generations of women who will take their turn blazing their own path, and stepping on the stones we have thrown down to ease their way.

The Vision

This is more than a blog; it is a foundation. Select submissions from this archive will be invited to feature in our upcoming Army of Stories Book Series, moving our collective history from online to permanent ink.

The Founding Inspiration

In Honor of Cecelia C. Caruso

The Army of Stories began long before its name was ever thought of or spoken. It began with the life’s work of our First Historian: my mother, Cecelia Caruso.

A devoted genealogist and storyteller, she spent decades documenting the voices of the women who came before her. She understood that our history is not a static set of notes, but a long winding road, alive with struggles, victories, and lessons. To her, understanding where we come from is the only way to truly understand ourselves.  By looking back at the road behind us, we find the strength to carve the path in front of us.

Though she focused on the light and the resilience of our family history, she left us the map we needed to navigate the shadows. The CCC initials at the heart of our logo are a permanent tribute to her spirit—the root from which this community grows.

Every story shared here, every somatic release, is a continuation of her mission. We carry her torch to ensure that no woman’s story is ever treated as an inconvenience, and no legacy is ever erased.

She cleared the road.  Now, we march.
